Wheelchair Basketball Player
Anna Jackson, who lives in Upton, took up wheelchair basketball in 1997 after retiring from hockey due to knee problems which stopped her playing running sports. After playing for just over six months she was invited to attend trials for the GB women’s wheelchair basketball team and was selected to join the squad.

Anna has also shared her story as part of the huge "This Girl Can" campaign.
A great inspiration
After receiving nine operations on her knees, seven on her left, two on her right, Anna pulled herself back and her determination not to give up has taken her all the way to the Paralympic world cup, and the Paralympics.
